Head coach Paul Maurice said earlier in the week that Tkachuk was still getting tests to determine how long he would be out. On Thursday, ahead of a game against the Oilers, Maurice said that remains the case but added that Tkachuk will not play at least through this weekend, according to Panthers senior content manager Jameson Olive.
After the Oilers game, the Panthers will host the Flames on Saturday and the Lightning on Monday.
Tkachuk is second on the Panthers in scoring with 22 goals and 57 points this season.
The Panthers are second in the Atlantic Division with a 35-21-3 record.
